End of an Era !!!

It has been four and half months since i left Miami or Charshe Akra(411) as we fondly call it. Definitely my second home. Once i got a job there after graduation I never imagined that i would be the first one to leave 411. But sadly it was doomed to be. People have started getting married. And heartiest congratulations to satya aani Baba for their respective marriages. I really appreciate it.(ps:This line is meant for ppl to laugh. so pl do so).I cannot attend any of the ceremony, but do send colorful images as rightly put by shreel-lo-patla. Satya aani lagna savkash par padu de..fast fast karoo nako :).nahitar mantra vagaire download karun chalu hoil....

over the past 2 years i have been fortunate enough to have some very wonderful friends. Never had i thought that when i leave india for the USA, i would meet such wonderful friends.Infact, i think i found my best friends here, each one unique in their own respect. Just like everything else.all good things have to come to an end. and so is the case with 411. 411 is shutting its 'Entertainment complex' this month end and each one of us is going their own way to either find a job or pursue one. Living with 411 or for that matter in Milton has been a great fun, pleasure and honor. For here i have obtained my most true friends. And i am sure, same is the case with each one of us. and just as i am writing this, tats IMs in his now familiar tone 'Go to sleep dawg'. The day i left 411 for the last time will be etched in memory forever. Not surprisingly i got that same feeling when i left india, my parents and brother and sister.

I was unable to attend the 411's graduation and see of party on friday, 7 jan 2005 where all ex and current milton vasis and other friends were invited. And they will have their own private party some time soon, before tats and binT leave for india. binT will leave US for good, and i really dont know how he will adjust to india after living here in miami?I wish him, Best of luck.A lot of miltonites are actually in india currently, hence they are sure to meet. That wud be a great get-together for sure.

If i start writing what all i am gonna miss and i am.That list would go on for ever. But neverthelesss i am gonna list them and here it goes.
1. Waking up at 11:30 or 12:00 noon after having watched 3,4 netflix movies with Phats and pappan (Others were around, but me paps and phats formed the core)
2. Playing frisby competitions with great zeal and enthusiasm without worrying for the TV or the patio glass door in our home
3. the bed (Gaadi, would be more apt here, bed does not produce the comfort and effect that word gaadi does;) ), i shared with monty
4. Nightly chats with monts where we summed up all days happenings. Later called "BAATEIN TIMES" when tats also joined our room
5. montys waking up in the morning, with his usual curse and F word to Mutaz
6. Phatss pav bhaji and the era of combo cookings (i woud say i have the distinction of having done combo cooking with all in 411 and 116, incl. Datye. PUN
INTENDED)

7. Playing patte with everyone in 116 and later 411
8. Highly intense and physical games like Pictionary, Dam sharyas where ppl wud almost get killed. These games wud even give the rooneys and symonds a run for their money.
9. Playing carrom with all and especially guru and keni from whom i got really good competition
10. myself being tagged as a 'gavandi' by our faster fene satya
11. Volleyballs games were the most satisfying aspect of my masters degree. I guess i can say with pride i have obtained master(y) in the art of playing volley ball by playing with firepower phatak, shrewd paps, quick satya, athletic gulve, commmited Tats, guru, bhosrekar and myself in defending our nations(not that others weren't :)), lethargic like dobhi and i guess myself.
12. Cooking of satya (I imagine a scene where his baiko is cooking, satya feel something wrong, then he will say, ae chal baju ho, baher jaa...:) me karto
mhanoon)

13.speaking of cooking. cooking can be highly satisfying or frightening(as is the case with tats, when we had a mishap in our house where the ukadlele batate's flew in the air, and got stuck up on the roof and injured him. he was lucky). Will miss guru's Nani jaisi chowli, monts mom se achi tomato bhaji, paps and phats pav bhaji, manya's fish , satyas everything(but i say gulab jamuns will be more like it), gulves puliyogara, keni's fish and dal, raja's chatnis and tikhat J1, Tats (i dunno) and my Dal Palaks and other excellent padarths's.14.Grocery expeditions on cycles. I have to confess here that i learnt cycle in Miami.
15.When monty and Phats bought cars, it brought a altogether new dimension to the history of miltons. South beach volleyball, frequent shoppings, movies was
hip.

16. Watching cricket with everyone was an especially enjoyable experience will ppl from all over coming to watch the matches. The heated arguments between
Nerlya (the match stick men) , baba, tats, me, manya..etc. over who is GOD steve or tendlya..were especially enjoyable

17. CHAHA was a important part of milton and we have had some good fanatics(Manya, satya, tats and me). And everyone was kind enuf to make it when asked for.
18. Cesmec was too cool. And i had a xclent time there with phats, gulve and shreel-lo-patla. I will miss the coffee breaks we had with gulve and shreelya.
19. Not to forget the pollo lunch with satya and gulve and sometimes nerlya and other times whole milton katta
20. Kawla kawla in the milton pools and maara maari and haana maari session with gulve and others.
21. Drunken revelry's(Incidentally none of us were involved then, but since i left everyone has kinda taken a liking to it)22. we had some very memorable and fun filled trips to keywest, Orlando and Bahamas.
23. We played cricket everyday on terrace before milton's volleyball era started.we had some very memorable moments while playing cricket with vista verde's. We defeated them 'Chari mundya chit' and they just never recovered. I was really fun. we had just 2 cars and team of 11,12 wud easily fit into it. especially Nashine's car was fully filled with 7 ppl(mostly nash, me, gulve, phats, tats, guru, paps)
24. I picked up tennis here in miami and i enjoy the games i play with everyone.

I have learnt a lot of good things from ppl around me during my stay in milton. Everyone was always ready to help each other in whatever situation required. Ppl care a lot for others and are always willing to go that extra mile to help.Personally i wud like to thank pappan, tats, monty, guru for their patience and constant encouragement and support. Phatak and gulve have always been there when required giving wise advice on matters ranging from CC's to career to life goals to parents, treating me like a younger brother. And who can forget Satya, who has done it all.U wont ever find a person who selflessly helps others.I learnt a lot from satya and i miss him not being around, which i am sure a lot of ppl do.Thanks satya. The formation of Milton katta was a very thought ful decision and as satya has said let this b the common and favoured means of communication when everyone has left.

I have had a great time here in miami and I want to thank everyone in milton and especially 411, 116 and 515 for making my stay in miami a memorable experience. Long live 411.Sadly though this marks the end of the 9551 Milton Era.

Kya kare kya na kare

Its saturday and as usual i got up at 12:30. And after eating some kadak chakali's that my room mate brought over from India, along with chaha, i slipped into my room and hooked on to my laptop. Dont know what life without laptop would have been, after i left 411. Thinking of it, buying a laptop in a crunch situation proved to be very wise in future.

Any way back to topic. As usual, took stock of what i had (or did not) in my accounts and suddenly remembered that my friend in india, Aumkar, had sent me a song he had composed. so i started listening to it. Evidently, he had written the lyrics too. So he was the singer, composer and lyricist too. He had played it with a guitar and it was really good. Now guitar is one thing i wanted to learn. But just like many things i wanted to do, it did not materialize.I then thought what had i achieved in the 2 and half years i had been in the US.Most of my time(i ideally shud say,all of my time) in miami was spent in either idlying away or playing VB, cricket, football, lapa chupi, dam sharyas, pictionary and many others, beyond imagination.

Also i am not sure the job i am doing currently as BA is really what i want to do. I am not sure if i want to pursue that as a career, or do networking, mba, finance..I am really confused.I sometimes think that i will go back to india, but i dont know whether that is a viable option. When i come to grip with all these facts, i remember the song from rangeela, 'kya kare kya na kare. ye kaisi mushkil haay'.
