Go Aussies !!!

Saa B

The much awaited super series between the Australians and the World eleven proved to be a farce. Much was being said about this Australian side after it lost the ashes. That the blokes have become aged, their fielding has deteriorated and that it marks the beginning of the fall of Australian cricket. But a lot of people miss a point here. The australians have been top team in the world not just for a single series but for a good 10-15 yrs. And they have been ruthless when dealing with the opponents, often finishing test matches in 3-4 days. One bad series and people start saying that England is now the best team (blinding the fact that it was just a series they won). There is no denying the fact that australian side is an ageing side. But if they are performing well and their fitness standards and practice regimes still remain to be better than the best. The ashes defeat was due to a slump in their form. How often do u see an australian team relying on one person to deliver in all matches (and believe shane almost did). Their defeat could be accounted for by several things. hayden, martyn and gilly were terribly out of form and freddie had somewhat gotten a mental advantage over gilly (Tough to do but he did). how often can you keep gilly quiet. He is one of the most destructive batsmen in any from of ghe game and has won matches single-handedly. He barely scored any runs in the series. Hayden has been in poor form for quiet a time now. martyn got some horrendous decisions. mcgrath was playing with an ankle injury and gillespie was not even a shadow of what he was. To add to that freddie and kevin were in prime form all summer and england team was on a high.No doubt about that.

Coming back to the world series. This australian team has been playing as a unit for some time now. how can u expect this conclave of big players to gel together as a unit in 3 days and produce a fight against austrlians. Gilly smashed them to all parts and later on a weak australian attack overpowered the batsmen. It remains to be seen what would happen in the test matches. For me the World series would have been a competition between the two best sides, which are England and Australia in the current form. I was truly dissapointed at the performance of world eleven or twelve as you may have it with super sub and all. I think the coming series against australia would tell us whether they have gone past their best.

So guys hold your comments.

Boldly going everywhere - Pora pudhe challi !!!

Saa B's

One more good news in the Milton world. Our very own 'Kaptaan' (Captain in english), manish mantrawadi, aka manya aka manmantra has finally got an offer from none other than Motorolla. It must have come as a huge relief for him, as he finally gets that most coveted US H1 stamp. I am really happy for him just as every other miltonite wud and wish him all the best in his career. Congratulate re manya...this has one more significance..atleast for me..it sets up a base for all miltonites in FLL after bhosu's base in miami. Needless to say manya..please be ready to give a grand party(tootse ;)) when i come there on 28th oct.

The next thing, of course, that crops up is the subject of Marriage, once you get the elusive H1 and your 'vay varsha is ekontees'. barobar naa...? Desha madhe aata baghayla chalu kar..ki me ek profile banvoo...shaadi.com var.."Handsome bride having topnotch position at Motorola looking for a bride". Me india madhe astanach..lagna karun taal

Anyways manya, u had been asking me when i wud write my next blog. This one is for you. CHEERS !!!
