Changing Lanes !!!

Life can be so unpredictable..really when you come to think of it, it presents you with so many uncertainties, happiness, sorrow, freedom...

Some day when you are sitting idle, doing nothing really, that stark reality suddenly hits you, atleast me.
If i think of what i was some 4 yrs before, when i was in India, making preparations for studying in the USA.Those days i was a very quiet, well behaved son of my proud parents. I was neither into fashion, girls or drinking and felt that i was tied down in some way.

Then i come to US and landed in Miami, i become totally free, no one to ask, u make ur own decisions. Thats where i come across this wonderful arrays of friends. I never had such close friendship in India and realised what true friends are all about. I, lets say we, do nothing throughout our masters other than idyling time playing whatever games available. And by the end of it, 2 yrs to be perfect, u start ur job search and realise that u dont have any qualifications really to apply for any job. However those 2 yrs made me tough. it seemed to me though that i cud remain calm and composed in any given situation. That whatever the situation u r in, i seemed to laugh it away thinking good things are just around the corner.

Suddenly, the dream run comes to an end, u pack ur bags and r suddenly in a different place, u dont have ur friends they always were by ur side (i mean physically) n then u realize that , hey this is what life is all about, u have to move on.

In NYC, you think that life has kind of settled. However being accustomed to being around friends all ur time, u find different ways of keeping urself busy..so u venture into things u have never done before, driking, going pubs/clubs/bars and partying in general and yes dating. 2 yrs in miami i had no time to think abt what dating is and how common it is in US. A stint of an yr or so in NYC was enuf for me to jump in the dating scene.

Well life changes tracks very fast and i dont know what the next big change wud be, will it be career or marriage.

PS: I always tend to write these kind of blogs when i have been drunk the previous nite and get up in the morning to realise, hold on, that was not what i was before...

Solapur trip

Satya, myself and mashi had planned to go to monty's house at pappan's wedding. We decided that we wud go there for 2 days, enjoi and come back. I went back to attend a friends wedding at Mumbai and wud come back to pune on 23rd so that satya and me cud drive to monty the next day. In between we floated the idea of going to Goa but that plan kinda never materialized. since i had either bus or train as an option to go to poona i opted for our ST buses. I was in Mumbai Central within no time at around 8:00 and after a lot of asking around finally boarded a bus that wud drop me at swargate. I had confirmed that the bus wud go by express way so as to reduce travel time. to my surprise and dissapointment, the bus was a local bus supposed to go by expressway but stopping at Kurla, panvel and lonavala. knowing this i called (sms'ed) satya and informed him that i wud be late at swargate and hence adjusted arrival timr to 1:30 at nite. finally i reached and then satya picked me up. everything was set at satya's place as far as sleeping was concernned. Satya, incidentally also had to drop his wife at swargate as she wud be vacationing with her office colleagues, so he had very little sleep. We has decided that we wud leave for solapur as early as possible in the morning. i got up at 6:00 in the morning (let me correct, satya woke me up) and i slipped from my bed rite into kitchen where hot tea was served. every miltonvasi wud be delighted at this and so was i. Ahaa...those days...

By the time satya's friend ashu also arrived and we set foot on our journey to solapur after dropping his wife at swargate. Satya owns a chick silver maruti alto fully furnished with mp3 et al. so no question of getting bored or irritated due to heat. Nevertheless since it was morning it was never a case. so after taking a couple of chaha breaks at dhaba's we reached bint's home town at approx 12:00 afternoon.mont guided us thru the horrific roads thru solapur and there he was in a white maruti esteem with his goggles on, full binT ishtyle.
mont's home is a huge haveli with construction going on in literally each room. we had tea and then i had a quick shower. we were actually placed in a guest room with open windows..eerie isnt'it..onc done dinner was served. there was dal baati specially made for us by his mom. i had never had it hence i was curious..by the end of it..we had so much food..with the ghee stuff and all..that it was difficult to get up from the table. some how we moved or arses into the guest room and were instantly asleep. we got up at around 5:00 and after having tea left to see mont's factory and mills. bint driving though has deteriorated tremendously and the one pass he made to a truck from left almost had our hearts jump out..so finally we reached his factory. it is a huge factory where every towel on earth is made.it has spinning machine's ,dying et all and a new Quality control department which binT claims to have started. he showed us the new office which he made for himself but is now used to hold user meetings and discussions + a room where one can sleep if u get tired while working. after visiting the milss we then went to see monty;s friends and were then supposed to head for dinner. the hotel was good with a nice ambience..we had some drinks and tandoori chicken. before that binT took us to a place where u get indian type burger allwhich was really very good. i those two hrs witgn binT friena ds we got a taste of solapuri bhasha like...kya karta be..etc..

we reached home at 11:00 and within no time we in baatein times..satya was operating bint's laptop and saw some of the shared drives in this pc..which were of no use...so he disconnected them...and then bint said..kya A satya..tune Yaadein disconnect kar di..and we had a laugh..we then tagged a new name..called "Yaadein times"..which henceforth shud be used when a 411 ite meets another some time after a long time.

We got up next day and headed for bint;s factory to get his towels.. and then each one of us took towels. we then went to a market where we took solapuri chadris...they were awesome...we also took some shengaa chatni and then headed back to poona...on a joyous ride. Satya dropped me at swargate..but since there was no bus i went to poona station and took the volvo to mumbai..i reached home at 2:00 and to my surprise Sandhya and Aniruddha along with Nidhi has come to mumbai from australia...it was really awesome and i was extremely happy. Thats how this trip finished..

ps: 1. although mashi's name is mentioned in our discussion during mashi's wedding, he never figured in the final travel team as he kept the tradition of ditiching everyone intact during this trip.BinT wud tell more when asked.
2. Satya has uploaded some pics of that trip too...
